Artist Biography
Angela H'Wood was born and raised in England and at an early age was awarded honors for drawing by the Royal Drawing Society in London.  Later she won 1st Prize for two small paintings in Paris, France.  At the age of sixteen she was the recipient of a full scholarship to the York School of Art in England.

In 1975 Angela immigrated to Canada and later became a Canadian citizen.  She continued to study art and discovered new avenues of expression under the guidance of several Instructors, some of whom she met during her studies at the Alberta College of Art and Design.

Anglea is captivated by plant life, especially in the wild; the rock formations, waterfalls and mountains intrigue her.  Portraiture of people and animals are painted to convey the essence of character and spirituality.

She invites the viewer to become involved in the complexity of light, color form and space that are constantly changed by the forces of nature.

Anglea was in Mexico in March of 2002 and was greatly inspired by the atmosphere created by the sense of history, the pure light and wonderful bright colors.  The art works Angela created during this trip, in both oil and watercolor media, were painted to convey to the viewer the beauty of San Miguel Allende in Mexico.
